Planning For Brick Day 2018

We are in the midst of finalizing plans for Brick Day on Monday January 8th, 2018 and want to update everyone on a few things to help with planning!

1. We’re going to Disneyland!

We are planning to visit Disneyland, not Disney California Adventure this time around. Of course you are welcome to visit both parks and catch up to the Brick Day group in Disneyland whenever you want. We’ll post a loose schedule of meetups for the day closer to the event.

DCA will be closing California Screamin’, the boardwalk (including Mickey’s Fun Wheel), Ariel’s Grotto/Cove Bar, and Grizzly River Run for remodeling that day. So far, the closures listed for Disneyland that day include Haunted Mansion, Dumbo, and Splash Mountain.

Disneyland park hours: 9 am to 9 pm
Admission: $97 (ticket prices change based on the day, that is the price for January 8th for one admission to one park)

Disneyland utilizes the FastPass and MaxiPass system (paper and digital, no wristbands). We will most likely use a few FastPasses throughout the day, but do not plan to use MaxiPass which is $10 per day per guest.

2. Downtown Disney

We will have at least one or two meetup times at Downtown Disney, so if you aren’t planning to join us in the park, you are welcome to join us in Downtown Disney! More details to come, but we usually like to head to Trader Sam’s near opening at 11am.

3. Hotels

There are many reasonably priced hotels near Disneyland for your convenience. The park entrances are basically in between the two parks, so wherever you stay, you will need to either walk or take a shuttle to approximately the middle of the block on Disneyland Drive or Harbor Blvd.

To help you find hotel locations and details, check out the list of Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels to see which ones offer shuttles, parking, etc. We also recommend checking prices on when you’re ready to book!

4. Join in the planning!

I would be insanely helpful to get an idea of how many AFOLs are planning to join the fun, so if you have a few minutes, please chime in on the Brick Day discussion in the Bricks LA VIB Community on Facebook or send us an email at Comments and suggestions welcome!
